What do these controls do?
In the order panel, Volume (lots) sets the order size. Stop Loss is a level you define to limit potential loss, and Take Profit is a level you define to capture intended profit. No single value is right for every account or trade; it should align with your plan, capital, and acceptable risk.
Set volume
- Find Volume (lots) in the order panel.
- Enter the amount manually or use the displayed volume options.
- Check the displayed minimum and maximum allowed for the symbol.
- Before submitting, confirm the volume matches your account and planned risk.
Set stop loss and take profit
- Open Stop Loss and Take Profit.
- Choose the entry mode when the Terminal provides it: manual entry, dollar risk, or percentage risk.
- Enter the appropriate value and review its effect on the order.
- Before sending the order, recheck trade direction, volume, and entered levels.
For open positions
When position-management controls are available, review or change Stop Loss and Take Profit levels for an open position. Changing a level is also a trading decision; before confirming, make sure the correct position and value are selected.
