Trading Discipline Metrics Guide

This guide explains how the system evaluates your trading behavior across eight dimensions. Each metric receives a score between zero and one hundred, and the average of these eight scores forms your overall Discipline Score.

Why does trading discipline matter?

Good technical analysis is only half the battle in trading; the other half is discipline in execution. Many traders who correctly read the signals still lose money because of weak discipline. They open trades larger than the allowed limit, enter the market one after another without spacing, take big risks to recover quickly after a loss, and add to losing positions hoping the market will reverse. These eight metrics measure exactly these behaviors.

Weekly improvement strategy

Changing all of these at once is difficult. Each week, focus on just one metric.

  1. ⁨1⁩Dedicate the first week to the Impact metric. Set a daily loss limit of two percent and if you hit it, end the day.
  2. ⁨2⁩Dedicate the second week to the Size metric. Before every trade, write down the dollar loss.
  3. ⁨3⁩Dedicate the third week to the Loss Add metric. Never add to a losing position.
  4. ⁨4⁩Dedicate the fourth week to the Frequency metric. Wait thirty minutes between trades.
  5. ⁨5⁩Dedicate the fifth week to the Revenge metric. After a loss, change the symbol.
  6. ⁨6⁩Dedicate the sixth week to the Overlap metric. Have a maximum of two simultaneous trades.
  7. ⁨7⁩Dedicate the seventh week to the Symbol metric. Stay only on three Tier A symbols.
  8. ⁨8⁩Dedicate the eighth week to the Hours metric. Trade only during personal high-performance hours.

Final note

Trading discipline is a project, not a destination. Even the best traders in the world sometimes have low metrics. What matters is that you see the trend and check whether this week was better than last.

Recognize your weak metrics and know which ones are always low. Work on them one by one, because changing everything simultaneously isn't possible. Trust the data; if the system says you're trading on revenge, you probably are.

If your overall discipline score rises from fifty to seventy in a month, your returns likely improve several-fold, even without any change in your analytical strategy.
